These Terms of Service govern your use of Linearscript.

By creating an account or using Linearscript, you agree to these Terms.

2. Description of the service

Linearscript is a web application for screenplay planning, writing, structuring and exporting.

Linearscript is currently in test use.

You should keep your own backups of important screenplay work.

Do not rely on Linearscript as the only storage location for important or irreplaceable material.

During test use, Linearscript may reset, migrate, restructure or delete test data where necessary for development, security, maintenance, storage changes or technical reasons. Where reasonable, we aim to give advance notice, but this may not always be possible.

5. User content

You retain ownership of the screenplay text, project data, notes, files and other content you create, upload or import into Linearscript.

By using the service, you give Linearscript the limited right to process, store, display, edit, convert, import, export, copy technically, transmit and otherwise handle your content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain and improve the service.

Linearscript does not claim ownership of your screenplay or story material.

You are responsible for keeping your own copies and backups of important content.

6. Responsibility for content

You are responsible for all content you create, upload, import or share through Linearscript.

You must not upload or use content that:

If you import a PDF screenplay, you confirm that you have the right to process that file and its contents.

You should avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive personal data about real individuals.

7. Content removal and access restrictions

We may remove, disable access to or restrict content if we reasonably believe that it violates these Terms, infringes third-party rights, is unlawful, creates a security or technical risk, or may expose Linearscript, the service provider or other users to liability.

8. Collaboration and sharing

Project owners may invite collaborators or approve access requests.

If you share a project with another user, that user may be able to view or edit the project depending on the access granted.

You are responsible for deciding who you give access to.

Linearscript is not responsible for changes made by collaborators you have approved.

You are responsible for removing collaborator access when access is no longer intended.

9. Access requests

If a user opens a project link without access, they may be able to request access.

The project owner may approve or deny the request.

Requesting access does not guarantee access to a project.

10. Feedback

Users may submit feedback through the service.

By submitting feedback, you allow Linearscript to use it to improve, develop and modify the service without compensation or obligation to you.

Feedback does not give you ownership or rights over changes made to the service based on that feedback.

11. Password reset and email

Linearscript may send password reset emails and other necessary service-related messages.

You are responsible for keeping your email address correct if email-based recovery is used.

12. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Linearscript available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The service may be unavailable due to:

13. Backups and data loss

Linearscript may store project data on the server, but you are responsible for keeping your own backups of important work.

We are not liable for lost writing, lost projects, corrupted files, failed imports, failed exports or other data loss to the maximum extent permitted by law.

PDF import is provided as a convenience feature.

We do not guarantee that imported PDFs will be parsed perfectly.

Scene headings, character names, dialogue, action descriptions, title and writer information may be detected incorrectly.

You are responsible for checking and correcting imported content.

Export features are also provided as-is. Print/PDF output may vary depending on browser, device and settings.

Administrative features are reserved for authorized administrators only.

Trying to access admin-only features without permission is prohibited.

17. Intellectual property of the service

Linearscript, including its interface, code, design, structure, brand elements, documentation, workflows and service concept, belongs to the service provider unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, redistribute, sell, resell, sublicense or create a competing service based on Linearscript without permission.

This does not limit your rights to your own screenplay or project content.

18. No professional advice

Linearscript may provide writing, formatting, structural or planning tools, but it does not provide legal, financial, professional publishing, production or business advice.

You are responsible for reviewing and validating your own work and decisions.

19. Third-party services

Linearscript may use or link to third-party services, such as:

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. Linearscript is not responsible for third-party services, websites, content, availability or practices.

20. Future paid features

Linearscript may introduce paid features, subscriptions or payment plans in the future.

If paid features are introduced, additional payment terms may apply.

Users will be informed before any free feature is converted into a paid feature where legally required or appropriate.

If paid features, subscriptions or payment plans are introduced, the applicable price, billing cycle, renewal terms, cancellation rules, payment provider, taxes and any refund or withdrawal rights will be described separately before purchase.

21. Termination

You may stop using Linearscript at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access if:

Continued use of the service after changes means that you accept the updated Terms, unless mandatory law requires another procedure.

27. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, unless mandatory consumer protection law states otherwise.
